Construction activities include contractor mobilization, initial site preparation, and other related work. Construction crews will enter the site using two access points. The access point for compartment 1A will be located near Cypresswood Drive. The access point for compartment 2 will be located near T.C. Jester Boulevard, just south of Cypress Creek.
About This Project
In total, compartments 1A and 2 of the T.C. Jester Stormwater Detention Basin are expected to provide approximately 210 acre-feet of stormwater storage capacity — that is roughly the equivalent of 210 football fields covered in one foot of water.
A stormwater detention basin temporarily holds stormwater during heavy rain events to help reduce the risk of flooding in the area.
The T.C. Jester Stormwater Detention Basin project is expected to consist of four compartments: one on the west side of T.C. Jester Boulevard and three on the east side (1A, 1B, and 2). Construction on compartment 1B is in progress and anticipated to be completed in Q2 2027. Construction on the west compartment is anticipated to begin in Q2 2027.
